These goods hoists, or freight hoists as they are often described, are suitable for mezzanine and multi level applications. They are available, in straddle, cantilever or four post configurations and all afford fast and efficient transport of goods whilst utilizing a minimum area of floor space. The platforms are also available with conveyors for automatic loading and unloading. Units are available that service two or multiple levels, with capacities from 500 to 7000kg. Control stations, with an emergency stop at each level is standard. Safety, velocity fuses and safety cams prevent uncontrolled descent. The carriages will not move if they are loaded to more than 120% of rated capacity. They have Safedeck carriage locks, as standard on series M20 and optional on series MM hoists. These are ideal to support up to 6000kg during forklift loading at upper levels.
Series MD, MM, M20 & MF
Three different carriage styles are available, each designed for a specific use. Even awkward loads are handled smoothly throughout the travel range, because of the precision guide wheels.
The Straddle style is the most economical and versatile in terms of carriage size.
The Cantilever style is most appropriate when a traffic pattern or location of the hoist, dictates a 90° change of the direction of material flow, between landings.
The Four-Post style is designed for moving heavy loads, up to 7000kg. Guide beams, placed at each corner, support the carriage. This unit is only available with a mechanical drive system.
The building’s layout and the materials handling needs dictate the traffic pattern.
Z flow - most commonly, a "Z" pattern will work. In this pattern, the material is loaded from one end of the carriage at a level in the building, and then unloaded over the opposite end of the carriage on another level or floor.
C flow - in this traffic pattern, the material is loaded and unloaded from the same end of the carriage at any level of the building.
90° flow - these goods hoist can be supplied to cover almost any situation, including a 90° pattern. In this configuration, loading is from one direction at one level, and unloading a full 90° from the loading side.
Safety Gates and Enclosures
There are a wide variety of gates and enclosures that provide maximum safety and convenience for goods hoist installations. They consist of durable welded panels and are equipped with the appropriate electro-mechanical interlocks to meet Australian standards.
Swing gates are available in both single and bi-parting models, with a variety of widths.
Vertical acting gates are available in single & bi-panel models that, save space.
Sliding gates conserve space and are supplied with overhead track and support posts.
